A new low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal  October 13.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the possibility of an upper-air circulation forming over the Andaman Sea around October 11, 2026.

Following this development, a new low-pressure area may form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around October 13.

According to the forecast, the system could intensify over the next four days and move northwestwards towards the northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh coasts.

Meanwhile, the IMD reported that the country received 72% less rainfall than the long-period average between October 1 and October 7.
