LuLu Hypermarket Chennai Opening on October 12, 2026

LuLu Group is set to expand its retail presence in Chennai with the opening of new stores at Shenoy Nagar Metro Station and Chennai Central Metro Station on October 12, 2026. The launch will take place from 4:00 PM onwards, marking a new retail offering for commuters and residents in the city.

Contrary to speculation about a new shopping mall, the announcement concerns retail stores at metro stations, not the opening of a full-scale LuLu Mall in Chennai.

LuLu Hypermarket and Fashion Store at Shenoy Nagar

The Shenoy Nagar Metro Station location will feature three retail outlets: LuLu Hypermarket, LuLu Fashion Store and LuLu Connect.

The outlets are expected to offer commuters and nearby residents convenient access to shopping options within the metro station premises. The combination of grocery retail, fashion and connectivity products will provide different shopping choices at one location.

The opening adds to the range of retail services available to people travelling through the Shenoy Nagar Metro Station area.

LuLu Daily to Open at Chennai Central Metro Station

At Chennai Central Metro Station, LuLu Group will launch LuLu Daily, a convenience store aimed at serving commuters and people in the surrounding areas.

Convenience stores at transit locations can help passengers purchase everyday essentials while travelling, reducing the need to make separate shopping stops.

The two locations offer different retail formats, with a broader shopping selection planned for Shenoy Nagar and a convenience-focused outlet at Chennai Central.
