Poonamallee - Vadapalani Metro Feeder Bus Service to Be Introduced

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has announced plans to introduce feeder bus services along the Poonamallee-Vadapalani Metro route in Chennai to improve connectivity for passengers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the metro rail service between Poonamallee and Vadapalani on October 11.

After a long wait, metro services are set to begin on this route. To support commuters, the Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation will provide feeder bus services in coordination with Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).

According to a post shared by the Metropolitan Transport Corporation on its X account, feeder bus connectivity will be improved along the Poonamallee Bypass–Porur Junction–Vadapalani Metro corridor under Chennai Metro Rail Phase II. The initiative will be implemented in collaboration with Chennai Metro Rail Limited.

The Poonamallee–Vadapalani Metro service had remained delayed for approximately seven months, even after the completion of the necessary work and receipt of approval. The planned feeder bus service is expected to improve connectivity between the metro corridor and surrounding areas.
