Gummidipoondi Railway Signal Failure Causes Train Delays, Passengers Face Hardship

Train services on the Gummidipoondi route in Tiruvallur district have been delayed due to a signal failure between Gummidipoondi and Kavaraipettai railway stations. The disruption has affected passengers travelling towards Chennai, particularly during the morning peak hours.

Due to the signal problem, trains operating through the Gummidipoondi section are being routed through a specific platform and track. As a result, trains are being operated with increased intervals, leading to delays.

Express Trains Also Affected

Express trains arriving towards Chennai are also being operated through the same route. To manage train movement safely, trains are being stopped and operated one after another, resulting in further delays.

The disruption has caused inconvenience to daily commuters, with college students, office-goers and other passengers facing difficulties due to the delayed train services.

Railway employees are currently working to identify and rectify the signal fault. Efforts are underway to restore normal train operations as soon as possible.
