Chennai Traffic Diversions on October 11 for PM Modi’s Visit

Chennai Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions at several locations across the city on October 11, 2026, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. The restrictions will apply to commercial and heavy vehicles from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key Traffic Diversions in Chennai

GST Road: Vehicles coming from Tambaram will be diverted towards Kundrathur Road at Thiruneermalai Junction. Vehicles from Pallavaram will be redirected towards Tambaram near Hotel Airways at the Airport Junction.

JN 100 Feet Road: Vehicles heading towards Kathipara Flyover from Koyambedu will be diverted at Ashok Nagar 2nd Avenue towards Koyambedu or KK Nagar. Vehicles coming from Ashok Pillar will be redirected towards Guindy Industrial Estate at CIPET Junction.

Mount-Poonamallee Road: Vehicles heading towards Kathipara Flyover will be diverted towards Maduravoyal at Porur Toll Plaza and towards Arasamaram Junction at Ramapuram Junction.

OMR and Sardar Patel Road: Vehicles will be diverted towards the CBD at Gandhi Mandapam Junction.

Velachery: Vehicles travelling from Velachery Main Road towards Sardar Patel Road will be diverted back towards Velachery at Guru Nanak Junction.

Anna Salai: Vehicles approaching Lok Bhavan at Raja U-turn will be redirected in the direction of Anna Salai.

Chennai Traffic Police have requested the public and motorists to cooperate with the arrangements, follow the designated alternative routes and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
