Tamil Nadu Weather: Moderate Rain Likely in 12 Districts Today

Moderate rain is likely in 12 districts of Tamil Nadu today, according to the Chennai Meteorological Centre. A feeble trough in the lower atmosphere over the coastal parts of Tamil Nadu is expected to bring rainfall in several areas.

Today, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the Western Ghats districts, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Salem, Namakkal and Tiruchirappalli. Puducherry may also receive moderate rain.

Chennai is expected to have partly cloudy skies, with moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning possible in a few areas during the evening or night.

The maximum temperature in Chennai is likely to remain around 36-37°C, while the minimum temperature may be around 26-27°C.

Tamil Nadu Rain Forecast for the Coming Days

On September 4, moderate rain may occur at a few places in the Western Ghats districts, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Tiruchirappalli and Madurai.

From September 5 to 8, light rain is likely at a few places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

On September 9, light to moderate rain may occur in a few places in the Western Ghats and northern Tamil Nadu, as well as Puducherry and Karaikal.

There is little chance of significant change in maximum temperatures over coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal until September 7. However, temperatures may rise slightly in interior Tamil Nadu.
