Govt to start distributing textbooks from next week in flood-hit areas
Originating next week, without more spells of rain, the state government will begin distributing textbooks to students who lost them in the flood.

Efforts are being made to re-open the schools on 14th
In a statement issued by Director of School Education S. Kannappan it has been mentioned, � Due to heavy rains, the schools in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Cuddalore districts have been closed.

Government not sure when schools will reopen
While the Chennai collectorate has announced that schools and colleges in the city will be closed till December 13, the School Education department says they have not decided when they will reopen.
