O.Panneerselvam marks an end to his tenure on his own. Governor of the state Vidyasagar Rao accepted OPS�s resignation letter and that of Council of Ministers today. In a letter rolled out following the acceptance.

Rice is the main food in Tamil Nadu. Most of the people of Tamil Nadu eat rice twice a day. Hence the requirement of rice will be more in Tamil Nadu. Knowing the essentiality of the rice, Tamil Nadu is distributing.

Sugar subsidy cancellation will not have impact on Tamil Nadu
In Tamil Nadu under Public Distribution System, rice, wheat, sugar and other essential commodities are sold through ration shops at subsidized rates. Sugar is sold for Rs 13.50 per kg for green and white colour card holders.

Tamil Nadu Govt promotes IAS Officers
The government has promoted IAS officers of the 1993 batch to Chief Secretary Grade. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS who was Agricultural Production Commissioner has been promoted as Principal Secretary.
