Vaigai water to be released
Following requests from the farming community in Madurai and Dindigul districts, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has ordered water to be released from the Vaigai dam from Monday.

Petrol price hiked by Rs. 1.90 per litre to Rs. 73.60 in Chennai, effective midnight
OIl companies today hiked the price of petrol by Rs. 1.55 a litre, without taxes, as the falling rupee made imports costlier. The price of diesel was kept unchanged.
