Beachside service road being widened in Santhome

OPEC members to meet in Iran to decide fate of global oil deal
OPEC members who assemble in Iran on Wednesday will decide the fate of the first global oil deal in 15 years. They hope to persuade Iran to participate in a deal to freeze output levels. Saudi Arabia and Russia agreed to freeze production levels on Tuesday.

Circular issued by TANGEDCO in attempt to make local officials work more efficiently.
A circular has been issued by TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) to local officials stating that they should make random house visits. The circular is a move to deal with the lethargic attitude of the local officials.

Online property tax self assessment suspended
The Greater Chennai Corporation has announced that it has suspended the system of allowing residents in the city to assess their own property tax. Tax assessment orders will be issued only after field inspection of the property is completed.

Increase in EPF interest
The Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya has said that the interim interest rate for EPF (Employees� Provident Fund) has been increased from 8.75% last year to 8.80% for 2015-16.
