Protest against cutting the tress at Tiruvannamalai Girivalam Path
Devotees formed human chain and participated in road protest against the cutting old trees at the Tiruvannamalai Girivalam Path. Girivalam Path expansion project that proposes to expand the Tiruvannamalai Girivalam Path by 7 to 10 meters would commence soon.

Proposal to extend maternity leave to 26 weeks submitted
The Labour Ministry has said that it is ready to bring an amendment to Maternity Benefit Act to revise the duration of maternity leave from 12 weeks at present to 26 weeks. Women and Child Development, pr WCD, Minister Maneka Gandhi had recently discussed the issue with Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.

Aviation Fuel raised for fifth month in a row
ATF or Aviation Turbine Fuel prices were raised by 5.5 per cent today. This is the fifth month in row that prices have been raised. However, price of non subsidised LPG or cooking gas was lowered by Rs. 11 per cylinder.
