Toll gate charges reduced for the first time in Tamil Nadu
The toll gate rates have been reduced by Re. 1/- to Rs. 4/- at the 22 toll gates throughout the state of Tamil Nadu.Out of the 5004 km long Highways in the state of Tamil Nadu, 3006 km are under the control of the National Highways.

Gold rate increased Rs.96 per sovereign
The cost of gold has increased Rs.96 per sovereign on Friday morning (Sep 2, 2016).A sovereign was worth Rs.23432.00 and a gram was Rs.2929.00.The cost of 1 gram of pure gold (24K) is now Rs.3133.00.
