Heavy rains have brought Chennai city almost to standstill now!! The residents of Chennai are finding it difficult due to the heavy rains now. To add to their woes, the rates of autos and cabs have shot up now in Chennai.

Now, holidays are declared for 2 days for schools and colleges in Chennai and nearby districts and one day holiday for govt offices!!
The government of Tamil Nadu has announced holidays for the schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kancheepuram districts for today 8th and tomorrow 9th November due to heavy rains.

MD - From 10th November, very heavy rains in Chennai- Cyclonic winds and heavy rainfall in TN!!
As per the Indian Meteorological Department or IMD, it was clear that several districts belonging to Tamil Nadu would receive heavy rains for the next few days.
