Raw potato:
We all know that potato is highly preferred vegetable for most of us. But not many know that potato could also be effective in treating burn injury. The after effects of burns could be treated by raw potato having superb anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Healing irritation and healing pain could be possible by applying raw potato juice on the affected area.
Aloe vera:
Irritation could be reduced by aloe vera that has got estrogen plus healing properties in it. Blisters could be prevented by aloe vera. Either as leaf or as gel this aloe vera could be applied on the affected portion of the skin.
Mint toothpaste:
This is also one effective way to treat burn injury got by when something hot is touched by us accidentally. In the first step wash the affected area with cold water and dry it. Then apply mint toothpaste over the area and leave it for some time. Burning sensation gets reduced.
Use black tea bags:
The presence of tannic acid in the black tea does tremendously in reducing the pain by drawing the heat from the burns. Cool black tea bags are placed over the affected area for some time and removed.
Honey:
Inflammation reduction plus wound filling is possible by this honey. Quickening the burned skin is done by honey that has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The natural pH balance of honey makes it difficult for the bacteria and it kills the existing bacteria.
Milk:
Healing is promoted by milk that has got fat and protein content in it. In the first step the burnt area is soaked in the milk for a time of 15 minutes. Speedy relief is got by this.
Coconut oil:
Irritation could be relieved by this coconut oil. The presence of vitamin E plus the fatty acids that are antifungal and antibacterial prevents burn from getting infected. Lightening of scars is possible by lemon juice as the lemon juice has acidic properties.
Oats:
Inflammation of skin could be reduced by oats having skin soothing properties in it. In the first step a small bowl of water is taken and to it is added oats. Then the affected portion is soaked. Irritations get reduced.
White vinegar:
Relief from pain, itching etc due to burns could be got by using white vinegar as the acetic acid present in the vinegar does an efficient work.
