Ms. Savithri assumed office as the first mayor of Tanjore Corporation.
Tanjore Corporation�s special conference was organized at 12.15 PM on20th February.
The Corporation Mayor, Ms. Savithri Gopal preside dover the meeting. Thrirukkural was read. The mayoral robes were presented by Tanjore collector. Snior officials participated.
The mayor spoke:
Tanjore Corporation was formed in 1866 in Tanjore, known as the grain godown of Tamil Nadu and famous for its culture and literature The centenary of the corporation was celebrated in 1967.
.The present Chief Minister made the Tanjore a full-fledged corporation on 10th April, 2013. This is the 11th Corporation in the state.
I hope that the Corporation will develop and provide all basic amenities and bring glory to Tanjore.
