Aadhar and LPG subsidies get delinked

On Friday, the government made an announcement on the need for Aadhar card for availing subsidized LPG cylinders. In the Lokh Sabha, during the question hour, the petroleum and natural gas minister, Veerappa Moily announced that the Aadhar account and disbursal of subsidized LPG will be delinked and it will not be mandatory for the public to avail cylinders at subsidized price. He also added that the further clarifications about this will be mailed in another week. �There is no hike in price of subsidized cylinders,� he added.
As per the up-to-date statistics, with the direct benefit transfer, over 2.06 crore households are benefitted with the subsidized cylinders.
