Registration for Aadhar Cards – Will be completed only by end June

The Census Board Officials have informed that the registration for the Aadhar card and associated biometric data will be completed only by end June.
Up to 4th February, biometric data has been registered for approximately 4.85 Core individuals. 4.35 Crore individuals have been issued Aadhar cards. In Chennai city, about 23.72 Lakhs individuals have been registered and 19.75 Lakh individuals have been issued aadhar cards.
Apart from Chennai and Tiruvallur, the secnd stage of registration of biometric data is in progress. This is to be completed by end March. However, the first stage itself has not been completed in Chennai and Tiruvallur. This will take till end March for completion. The second stage will start after that. Hence, the delay in completion of Aadhar registration to be completed only by end June.
For those who have changed addresses, the information will be registered during the 2nd stage. The card preparation will commence after June.
