Possibility of Multi-Specialty Hospital in 10 Days
With eight specialties and new state-of-the-art equipment, the public healthcare system in the State will get a fillip with the new multi-specialty hospital at the Omandurar Government Estate in Anna Salai getting is likely to be inaugurated in 10 days.
Works dealt with the civil nature and
medical infra-structure installations were all get set in the new hospital.
Both medical and Para-medical staffs have been appointed.
To procure the structural works of the
hospital, the Public Works Department and the Health Department has been funded
Rs.27 Crores and Rs.76 Crores respectively.
Officials said that the building,
where the multi-specialty hospital for the poor has come up was initially meant
to accommodate the secretariat-assembly and also it will render all the
advanced treatments that are not available at the Rajiv Gandhi Government
General Hospital.
Work to convert the building to
hospital and patient friendly resumed in February this year following National
Green Tribunal nod to go-ahead.
Main entrance of the hospital is located on the Swami Sivananda Road side; the civic body has planned to enhance the infrastructure at the crossroads to facilitate commuters from Chintadripet MRTS station and MTC bus stops to arrive the hospital without any trouble. Hospital area will be signboard as �No Horn Zone�.
