Masi Festival at Tiruchendur Devasthanam

Masi Festival at Sri Subrahmanya Swami Devasthanam, Tiruchendur has been commenced today and will be ended by 17 February.

Today early morning around 1 AM, Nadai Thirapu festival was initiated. Later the Viswaroopam was carried at 1.30 AM and then comes the Udaya Marthanda Abishegam at 2 AM. Then at 4 AM, the SayaRatchai Deeparadhanai was accomplished out. On its continuation, flag hoisting ceremony as the symbol of Masi festival was carried out at 5.40 AM.

Then Deeparadhanai for Kodi Maram was performed. Various legends includes: the Temple Joint Commissioner Ganasekar; Takkar Kottai Manikandan; Hindu Munnani leader ArasuRaja; Assistant leader, Jayakumar; Thiruvaduthurai Atheena Tavathiru Ambalavana Thambiran Swamigal; Aral Chairman Arunachala Swami Temple heredity Takkar KaruthapandiNadar; Temple office superintendent RajaMohan and many more devotees participated in this event.

On 12th February, the 7th day festival early morning around 4.30 AM, Shanmugavel Peruman Urugu Satta Sevai event will be carried out. Around 4.30 PM evening, Swami dressed in Red will be taken out of procession in Gold chariot.

In 8th day celebration, Swami dressed in silver will be taken out for procession in Silver chariot. After Abishegam and deeparathanams, around 11.30 AM swami will be dressed in green and taken out for procession in green chariot.

A gold chariot was designed at the cost of Rs.2 Crores for the course of this event.
