Widening of road to Tirupathi – nearing completion
The 126-km long road to Tirupathi is nearing completion. Only 2 major bridges and one bypass for Tiruvallur are pending.
The Rs. 571 Crores
project was taken up in 5 stretches. 62-km stretch in A. P. and 64-km stretch
in Tamil Nadu have been completed. The
balance work is progressing quickly.
The construction of a
major bridge across a Water Resources Department Link Canal that carries water
from Poondi reservoir to Chembarambakkam lake is under progress. This 42 m long
four-lane bridge is now awaiting a no-objection certificate from the WRD, which
has sought some changes in the design. Once the alignment (in pillar design
& structure) is fixed as per conditions, permission would be sanctioned for
the construction of the bridge.
