No Transparency Approach at Metro stations

In the preface of the discussions with the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) about the need for the inclusive development needed by the Disability Rights Alliance (DRA) in handling the public transport system, the officials of the CMRLspeaks widely on the training endowed for their staff on handling the disabled people.
DRA needs more clear and transparency on the rules framed by the CMRL. It is not practically feasible for CMRL to attend each and every disabled person,added by Rajeev Rajan, a member of DRA. Also Smitha Sadasivan, another member of DRA stated that, they should have a clear view on the location of the emergency exit at the stations.
Chennai Metro Rail has been built at a cost of Ra.14, 600 Crores. All the stations are disabled-friendly and built as per the ‘Guidelines and Space Standards for Barrier Free Built Environment for Disabled and Elderly Persons’ framed by the ministry of urban development.
The stations amenities include: it has 19 underground and 12 elevated stations; non-slippery flooring; bumpy tiles that aids visually impaired persons; within reach toilets and ticket counters to facilitate disabled persons; lifts with grip-rails; audio announcements and Braille facilities.
