12,000 police personnel to be deployed kaanum pongal day

Everyone is aware that on kaanum pongal day there will be heavy rush in the city and beaches. About 12,000 police personnel will be deployed for security across the city.
Out of the five temporary outposts, three will come up on the Marina sands and two in Elliots as these are the major spots in the city which will see major crowds.The personnel posted at these outposts would regulate crowd and help in tracing missing children.
