Exorbitant hike in drumstick price in Chennai

There is a sudden hike in the price of drumstick in Chennai. Drumsticks which were sold each at Rs 5, now cost Rs 25 each. 1 kilogram of drumsticks costs Rs 250.
When enquired to a merchant regarding this, he stated, “drumsticks are brought from other states including Andra Pradesh, Maharashtra, etc and other districts of Tamil Nadu like Nellai, Virudhunagar, Selam, etc. But, in the recent days, as this is not the apt seasons for drumsticks to grow, there is a huge increase in price.”
