Petrol and Diesel prices hiked

Petrol price was on Friday hiked by 75 paise and diesel by 50 paise a litre as a rise in global oil rates and fall in the rupee value increased the cost of production.
In Chennai the petrol price will be Rs. 75.68 and the diesel price will be Rs. 57.93. The hikes will effective from today midnight, are excluding local sales tax or VAT and actual increase will be higher and vary from city to city.
