Tamil Nadu C M gives Rs 7 lakh each to the victims of the floods in Uttarakhand
The pilgrims from Tamil Nadu who went on a pilgrimage to Rudra
Prayag, Kedarnath, and Badrintah were caught in the torrential rains and
landslides in these areas in state of Utaarkhand. While some the pilgrims died
in this mishap, some others were not able to return to Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has ordered immediate actions to be taken to bring them
back safely.
Accordingly, a senior official committee e was formed in Delhi, This high-level delegation will
visit Uttarakhand state capital Dehradun to ensure the safety of the remaining pilgrims
from Tamil Nadu and send to Chennai.
Thanks to to this swift action by the Tamil Nadu government, 657
pilgrims could be located and they were brought back. Another 14 pilgrims could
not be traced. Tamil Nadu CM gave the affected families Rs. 3.5 Lakhs each
combining with the amount of another Rs. 3,5 lakhs given by the state of
Uttarkhand making a total of Rs. 7 lakhs for each family of the 14 victims. The
families received the cheques with great gratitude.
Also, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister contributed Rs. 5 Crores
towards flood relief in the state of Uttarkhand.
