Chennai Road Accidents descent: Traffic Police Information

In Chennai, Metropolis of TamilNadu, is now being contested with 38 lakh vehicles. Among this count, around 75 percent is of two wheeler vehicle. In addition to this number, the accounts states that, about 800 to 1000 new vehicles are on sale.
In spite of the increase in the number of vehicle, the continuous monitoring of the City Transport traffic police has descent the road accidents when compared to the last year. In last year 2012, till 30 November, the police department declares that the count of accident is 1,319. Comparatively, the count of accidents till 30 November, this year has descent to 1,169.
The accident count decrease is mainly due to the hard work and continuous 24 hours monitoring of the road transport rules by the traffic police officials, stated by the City Transport Traffic Police Commisioner, Mr. Karunasagar.
Road traffic police official’s states that, the drunken drive is the main reason for the road accidents. For this year alone, for speed driving, around 74,109 cases are filled and fine of Rs. 23 Crore was collected. Additionally, the driving license of the last year case filled 2000 fast drivers are got cancelled.
