Restrictions for New Year’s Day: Tirupathi temple: Arjitha sevas cancelled for better regulation of crowd

Special pujas and prayers are to be performed on the New Year’s Day at the Tirupathi temple. TTD has planned to impose some restriction to regulate the devotees who come for the ‘Darshan’.

TTD Joint Director, Mr. S. Cinivacaraju informed:Numerous festivals take place every year in Tirupathi temple. For the New year’s Day, 2014, Special puja will be performed. The main doors of the temple will be open from 31st December, midnight.Once the Thiruppavai Hymn Puja and the special puja and prayer are over, VIP Drashan is scheduled to start at 1-30 PM. The fee for VIP Darshan is Rs. 1000/- and 1000 persons are allowed to enter. The person should be physically present himself to buy the VIP ticket. No recommendation letters will be valid. Each VIP ticket will be valid to allow 6 persons, mainly the family relatives of the ticket holder. All visitors must carry their Identity Cards.

Regular arrangement to enter the temple by paying a special fee of Rs. 300/- is cancelled. Out of those who have registered for the New Year Visit by paying Rs. 50/- at the TTD offices all over India, only 4,500 people will be allowed.  On the occasions of the New Year’s Day, differently-abled person, visitors with children under 1 year of age, and old people will not be permitted.
