43rd UPA Letter Writing Competition

The 43rd UPA letter writing competition will be held on 5th January 2014. The postal department has announced that those who are willing to participate in this contest should send their applications on or before 21st December 2013.The habit of letter writing is diminishing because of E Mail, SMSs and internet. Keeping this in mind in order to inculcate this practice among school children, the postal department is holding this competition every year.
The details of 43rd UPA Letter Writing Competition 2014 are as under:Subject - "Write a letter describing how music can touch lives",Eligibility: Children up to 15 years of age as on 31.03.2014,Content and Form: Composition must be presented in the form of letter not exceed 800 words length on the given subject,Date and Time: Sunday 5th January 2014 10:00 am to 11:00 am,Language: English or any language listed in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India,Last Date for submission of forms: 21.12.2013,Prizes (At National Level) - One First Prize : Rs. 2000/- and certificate,One Second Prize : Rs. 1500/- and certificate,One Third Prize : Rs. 1000/- and certificate,Consolation prizes : Rs. 250/- to the best entry from each Postal Circle and certificate,The best entry at the national level shall qualify as the official Indian Entry for the International Competition,Each and every entry must have the following details on its first page,Candidates passport size photograph,Candidate`s name,Date of birth,Male/Female,Father`s Name,Name of the school/Institution & Full postal address
