CMDA to resume selling houses after 35 years’ gap

Following the phenomenal rise in the real estate for residences, CMDA (Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority) has come forward with a proposal to sell plots at Manali and Maraimalainagar. People have crowded at CMDA office to collect the application forms.

The plots are supposed to be allotted to the applicants by conducting a raffle.CMDA has also planned to construct satellite cities in the North and South borders of the city. It has announced for development and sales of plots at Manali (North Chennai) and Maraimalainagar/Koodalur (South Chennai). Different plots are meant for the lower income and middle income groups.

200 plots are available in these 2 locations. The plot areas range from 300 sq. ft. (at Rs. 417 per sq ft) and 3000 sq. ft. (at Rs. 706 per sq ft) at Maraimalainagar. Plots ranging from 426 sq. ft (at Rs. 706 per sq ft) and 3600 sq ft are available at Manali.The plot prices vay from Rs. 2.96 Lakhs to Rs. 30 lakhs.

Plots are also to be made available at Santhankadu and the iron & steel market areas. Some shops at Koyambedu wholesale market are also to be put up for sale.It is worth noting that CMDA has resumed after a gap of 35 years. Applications are available at the CMDA office as well as internet. Immediately hordes of people lined up for applications. Arrangements for water, electricity, and drainage are being made. Other facilities will be made available.
