People have been ordered strongly to stop using the red lights on top of their vehicles. Only those who are relevant authorities will be accorded to use these red lights on their vehicles.
The trend of fixing the red lights and travelling with the lights on as a fancy exercise has been quite disturbing and irritating apart from causing traffic snarls. A petition has been submitted by one Mr. Abhay Singh on this aspect asking for restricting and curbing using red lamps on vehicles by many.
A bench of 2 judges has taken up this petition and has come up with the suggestion that only government officials for special function should be permitted to use red lamps. Others to stop using this.
The Police, ambulances, and fire-fighting vehicles can use red lights.
