You can majestically eat with your own money: Anitha Kuppusamy

The shooting of a film explaining the Tamil Nadu Government’s achievement was held at Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in Chennai. The famous folk singer Anitha Kuppusamy took part in the shooting. She spoke about the specialty of Amma Unavagam.
Later while speaking to the media, she said, “ In the whole of India only in Tamil Nadu the Amma budget canteen for the sake of poor people has been set up. One can get Idli for Rs 1. Sambar rice is served at Rs.5 a plate and curd rice at Rs. 3 and lemon rice or karuveppilai rice at Rs. 5 a plate. One can eat stomach full if he spends Rs 10 for breakfast and lunch. The whole world works for food only. Hunger is a terrible disease. A person has to shell out Rs 100 for food alone. We see people begging for food. But this will not happen in future. There will be no dearth for food in Tamil Nadu. We can eat majestically with our money at Amma Unavagam. We need not feel shy at all. I ate karuveppilai rice in this Amma Unavagam. It has been prepared with purity and hygiene. The ingredients like curry leaves, tamarind and Urad Dhal have been mixed proportionately. The food is also nutritious. It gives immense happiness to see the people who are fully satisfied with this food.”
