Chennai Lakes are filled with more water

The seasonal rainfalls in recent days have filled the lakes with more water. The heavy rain has significantly increased the water level in the lakes. The water is being supplied from the lakes in Pondi, Chembakkam, Solavaram and Puzhal to Chennai.
In addition to it, the Veeranam lake and Kandalur dam in Andhra Pradesh are also supplying water to Chennai. There was no sufficient water in the lakes last year to supply enough water to Chennai due to no enough seasonal rain. However, this year, all lakes are being filled with more water that can sufficiently fulfil the requirements of Chennai people.
