Southwest Monsoon to Continue in Tamil Nadu for Next 5 Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that southwest monsoon conditions will continue across Tamil Nadu for the next five days, bringing chances of rainfall in several districts.

According to weather officials, the monsoon is expected to officially begin around June 5 this year after a slight delay caused by intense heatwave conditions in northern India. Rainfall is likely in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Arabian Sea regions, and parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal.

The IMD also stated that the El Niño effect may weaken during June, which could support better monsoon activity in the coming weeks.
