Thanks to CM’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme

The health insurance scheme offered by the Tamil Nadu state government - CM’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme has been available to the public since 2012. This has been helpful for the government hospitals in obtaining new equipments and make infrastructural developments.
A sum of Rs 75 crore is generated from five hospitals offering this government scheme. The hospitals are:
- Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital
- Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, Egmore
- Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children, Egmore
- Government Kasturba Gandhi Hospital for Women and Children
- Regional Institute of Ophthalmology and Government Ophthalmic Hospital
Out of this amount, Rs 10 crore is spent towards the purchase of new equipments like operating microscope, dialysis machines, work stations for anesthesia, etc.
