Chennai Suburban Train Update: 5 EMU Services Fully Cancelled on February 28
The Southern Railway has announced the complete cancellation of five suburban EMU train services in Chennai on Saturday (February 28) due to scheduled maintenance works.
According to the official release from the Chennai Railway Division, track and technical maintenance works will be carried out in the Chennai Central – Gudur section at Sullurpeta and Tada railway stations. The works are scheduled from 12:50 PM to 6:50 PM, lasting nearly six hours.
5 EMU Trains Fully Cancelled
During the maintenance period, the following MEMU/EMU train services will remain fully cancelled for passenger safety:
Moore Market Complex (MMC) to Sullurpeta – 1:05 PM
Moore Market Complex (MMC) to Avadi – 9:25 PM
Sullurpeta to Nellore – 3:15 PM
Sullurpeta to Moore Market Complex – 6:40 PM
Nellore to Sullurpeta – 4:00 PM
Partial Services & Short-Terminations
Some train services will operate with short-termination instead of running up to their usual destinations:
- Trains from Moore Market Complex at 10:15 AM, 12:10 PM, 2:30 PM, and 3:10 PM will operate only up to Elavur instead of Sullurpeta.
- Trains from Sullurpeta at 1:15 PM, 3:10 PM, and 5:20 PM will run only up to Elavur.
- The 6:15 PM train from Sullurpeta will terminate at Gummidipoondi instead of Moore Market Complex.
