Chennai Metro Water Alert: Korattur Sewage Pumping Station Shutdown for Two Days
The Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board has announced that the Korattur sewage pumping station under the Ambattur Zone will remain temporarily non-operational for two days due to installation of an additional electric motor pump.
Shutdown Schedule
According to the official statement, the sewage pumping station will not function for 36 hours, from:
- 10:00 AM on February 9
- Till 10:00 PM on February 10
The shutdown is required to carry out essential infrastructure upgrades at the Korattur Sewage Pumping Station.
Sewage Pumping Stations Affected
During this period, the Korattur pumping station and the following linked sewage pumping stations will also remain temporarily non-operational:
Karukku, Ayyankulam, Karuppankulam, Lenin Nagar, Sangam Nagar, Thendral Nagar, VOC Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Pallam, SRP Nagar, Vivekananda Nagar, Kachanankuppam, Teachers Colony, SIDCO, Kulakkarai, Athipattu, ICF, and Ilango Nagar sewage pumping stations.

Residents in the Ambattur zone are advised to report sewage-related complaints to the concerned section engineers and assistant engineers during the shutdown period.
