The Union Ministry of Cooperation has launched the Bharat Taxi app, offering services similar to Ola and Uber but without charging drivers any commission. Instead, drivers will pay a daily app maintenance fee of ₹30.
The app allows booking of bikes, auto-rickshaws, and cars for local, outstation, and round trips. It is expected to offer fares up to 30% lower than existing platforms. Built-in safety features, verified drivers, and dedicated helpline support are included.
After a successful pilot in Delhi and Gujarat, the app will expand nationwide within two years.
