Chennai , Cuddalore and Villupuram districts Schools declared holiday today

The Meteorological Department has mentioned that the depression lying 550 km east-southeast of the city will intensify into a deep depression and cross north Tamil Nadu coast by Saturday evening. As a precautionary measure, Saturday has been declared a holiday for schools in Chennai , Cuddalore and Villupuram districts.
Officials of the Meteorological Department said that the earlier system was predicted to cross by Saturday morning. But it has remained stationary for over 10 hours, about 570 km east-northeast of Nagapattinam.
