Jana Nayagan Release Delayed Again, Madras High Court Issues Key Order
The release of the film Jana Nayagan, which was scheduled to hit theatres on January 9, has been postponed once again. The delay occurred due to the film not receiving its censor certificate at the last moment and the matter being taken to court.
Earlier, a single-judge bench of the Madras High Court directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to issue the censor certificate immediately. However, the CBFC challenged this order and filed an appeal before the Chief Justice’s bench of the Madras High Court. As a result, the film’s release was stalled again.
High Court’s Latest Decision
After completing the hearing, the court had announced that the order would be delivered on January 27. As expected, the Madras High Court has now set aside the single judge’s directive that asked for immediate certification of the film.
The court has also granted time for the CBFC to proceed with its appeal. Additionally, it has ordered that the Jana Nayagan case be reconsidered by a single-judge bench.
Due to this development, the uncertainty surrounding the release of Jana Nayagan continues.
