Southern Railway Announces Partial Cancellation of Suburban EMU Trains in Chennai
The Southern Railway has announced the partial cancellation of two EMU suburban train services in the Chennai area on January 21 and 22, affecting commuters on the Gummidipundi–Moore Market Complex route.
According to an official press release, the midnight EMU local departing Moore Market Complex at 11:20 PM will be shortened and terminate at Minjur on Wednesday. Additionally, the EMU service from Gummidipundi scheduled at 3:50 AM on January 22 will now start from Minjur instead of its usual origin point.
These adjustments are part of planned changes in suburban train operations and aim to manage network traffic efficiently while maintenance and other operational work are underway. Passengers who regularly travel between northern Chennai suburbs and central city stations are advised to check their schedules and plan journeys accordingly
