49th Chennai Book Fair Concludes Today at Nandanam YMCA Grounds
The 49th Chennai Book Fair, held at the Nandanam YMCA Grounds in Chennai, concludes today after two weeks of successful operation. The event began on January 8 and witnessed a strong response from book lovers across Tamil Nadu.
The book fair featured 1,000 stalls, displaying lakhs of books in Tamil, English, and other languages. A wide range of categories including novels, short stories, political books, children’s literature, essays, cinema, travel writing, spirituality, and Siddha medicine were available. All books were sold with a minimum 10% discount.
The fair recorded heavy daily footfall, with families and readers of all age groups attending. The decision to offer free entry without an admission fee received positive feedback from visitors.
The valedictory function, to be held this evening, will be attended by Supreme Court Judge Mahadevan, during which senior publishers will be honoured for their long-standing contribution to the publishing industry.
