Gold Price Hits New Record High in Chennai; Silver Prices Also Surge
Gold prices have reached a new all-time high in Chennai, continuing their upward momentum for the past week. After crossing the ₹1 lakh mark per sovereign on December 15, gold prices saw brief corrections before resuming an upward trend from December 22. Following a peak on December 28, prices dipped slightly and have now climbed steadily over the last seven days.
In today’s market, 22-carat jewellery gold rose by ₹80 per sovereign, taking the price to ₹1,06,320 per sovereign. The gold rate per gram increased by ₹10 to ₹13,290, marking the highest gold price ever recorded in the city.
Silver Price Also Touches New Peak
Silver prices have followed gold’s rally and climbed sharply to record levels.
