CMRL Increases Train Frequency on Blue Line to Ease Peak-Hour Rush

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has increased the frequency of metro train services on the Blue Line in response to rising passenger footfall. The additional services have been introduced with immediate effect to ensure smoother and faster travel for commuters.
The enhanced frequency will be operational during the morning peak hours from 8.00 am to 11.00 am and in the evening peak hours from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm. This move is expected to reduce waiting time at stations and ease congestion during high-demand periods.
CMRL stated that the initiative is part of its continued efforts to improve passenger comfort and maintain reliable, safe, and punctual metro services for the people of Chennai.
