Birth and death certificates in Tamil

The city corporation plans to introduce an English-Tamil bilingual option from November. Details pertaining to births will be uplinked in Tamil and English. According to sources, the Unicode font would be used for Tamil characters. Details such as name, sex, date of birth, place of birth, names of father and mother, permanent residential address, address of parents at the time of birth of the child, date of registration and date of issue would all appear bilingually.
Once the initiative is launched, public and private hospitals as well as birth and death registers in the Chennai Corporation would be able to uplink data in Tamil and English. Currently, more than 500 hospitals in the city have been provided an exclusive login ID and password to uplink data. For further details visit www.chennaicorporation.gov.in
