Video Statement | December 18

IndiGo Airlines CEO on December 18 said the airline has largely stabilised its operations following recent disruptions and has restored its network to 2,200 flights a day. He noted that the stabilisation update was first shared on December 9, after which flight operations were progressively normalised.

The CEO said the airline is now focusing on three key priorities - resilience, root cause analysis, and rebuilding. As part of this process, the IndiGo Board has appointed an external aviation expert to conduct a comprehensive root cause analysis of the disruption.

Acknowledging that similar operational disruptions have affected major airlines worldwide, the CEO said IndiGo would also draw lessons from global experiences to further strengthen its systems.

He added that the leadership team, including himself, will travel across the network to interact with employees, understand the challenges they faced during the difficult period, and gather feedback.

Emphasising the airline’s long-term journey, the CEO said the disruption during December 3-5, 2025, should not define what IndiGo has built over 19 years. He highlighted that IndiGo today has 65,000 employees and has flown over 850 million customers since its inception.

Reaffirming IndiGo’s commitment, he said the airline will continue to serve the nation by connecting even the remotest parts of India to the world, while maintaining its strong safety record. The focus on reliability, accessibility, discipline, and customer-centricity will remain unchanged, he added.

Concluding the message, the CEO expressed confidence in the airline’s future, stating, “From here on - onwards and upwards.”
