Moderate Rain Likely in Chennai, Says Meteorological Department
The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in parts of coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal due to a low-level atmospheric circulation prevailing over south Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas.
According to the weather bulletin, interior Tamil Nadu is likely to experience dry weather, while light fog may occur at a few places during the early morning hours across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
From tomorrow to the following day, isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal may receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Between December 18 and 21, similar rainfall activity is expected at a few locations in south Tamil Nadu, while north Tamil Nadu may continue to remain dry.

For Chennai and its suburbs, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy today, with light rain in a few areas. Early morning fog may also occur at isolated places.

Tomorrow, the city may witness light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some localities.

Fishermen Advisory
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for fishermen, advising them not to venture into the sea from today until December 18. Strong winds with speeds of 35-45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph, are likely over the south Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar, and the Kumari sea region.
