Moderate Rain Likely in Tamil Nadu Coastal Districts Today: IMD Chennai Weather Update
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre (IMD) has announced that moderate rainfall is likely in some coastal districts of Tamil Nadu today due to variations in easterly wind speed. Light to moderate rain may also occur in Puducherry, according to the latest weather bulletin.
The IMD further stated that moderate rainfall may continue across parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until the 18th, with light fog expected during early morning hours in several regions.
Due to cold winds and foggy conditions, the minimum temperature may drop by up to 3 degrees Celsius below normal in some areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
In Chennai and its suburban regions, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy, with a chance of light fog in isolated locations.
Meanwhile, strong gusty winds are likely over the coastal areas of southern Tamil Nadu, the Gulf of Mannar, and the Comorin Sea. Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into these sea areas until weather conditions improve.
