EDII Tamil Nadu to Conduct 5-Day Gold Jewelry Appraiser Training in Chennai (December 15–19, 2025)
The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute of Tamil Nadu (EDII-TN) has announced a five-day Gold Jewelry Appraiser Training Program, scheduled to take place from December 15 to December 19, 2025, at its campus in Chennai. The training will be conducted daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This program is designed to equip participants with essential skills required for gold appraisal, gold loan evaluation, and jewelry authentication - areas where demand is rapidly increasing in banks, financial institutions, and jewelry businesses.
Key Training Modules
Participants will receive hands-on training in:
- Identifying the purity and quality of gold, silver, and other precious metals
- Carat evaluation and purity assessment
- Acid testing techniques
- Use of weight and purity measurement tools
- Board Rate–based pricing methods
- Identifying hallmarked jewelry and detecting counterfeit ornaments
- Understanding various gold jewelry types
- Gold loan calculation and appraisal methods used in banks
Career & Business Guidance
The training also provides insights into:
- Job opportunities for jewelry appraisers in public sector banks, cooperative banks, and private banks
- Procedures and eligibility to apply for appraiser roles
- Guidance on Central and State Government schemes, subsidies, and financial support for entrepreneurs
Eligibility Criteria
Open to men, women, transgender persons, and members of the third-gender community
Minimum age: 18 years
Educational qualification: 10th standard pass
