Seven special train services are being operated to transport delegates from Tamil Nadu to the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 event, taking place in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, from December 2 to 15.
Southern Railway, IIT Madras, and Banaras Hindu University are jointly coordinating these services to ensure smooth travel for participants.
The first batch of 216 delegates departed from Kanyakumari for Banaras on November 29, followed by a second batch of 264 delegates who left from Chennai Central the day before yesterday.
A total of 7 special trains are scheduled, including:
- 3 trains from Chennai Central to Banaras
- 2 trains from Kanyakumari to Banaras
- 2 trains from Coimbatore to Banaras
More than 1,400 people from Tamil Nadu are expected to take part in the cultural exchange programme, according to the Chennai Railway Division.
