Renowned cinema producer and director AVM Saravanan, aged 86, passed away today (Dec. 04) due to age-related health issues. He was a key figure of AVM Productions, one of Tamil cinema’s most respected and historic film studios.
AVM Saravanan, who had received several honours including the Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu Government, breathed his last at his residence in Vadapalani. His mortal remains have been placed at AVM Studios for the public and industry members to pay their respects.
The final rites will take place today at 3 PM on the AVM premises. Leaders, celebrities, and members of the film fraternity are expressing their heartfelt condolences on his passing.
It is also notable that AVM Saravanan had celebrated his 85th birthday yesterday.
